SITUATIONAL CHRISTIAN

Today's topic is like a part two of what I discussed in "Do you have Joy?". What is situational Christianity?, I define situational Christianity as the tendency of demonstrating your Christian Faith only

Topic: Warning Against Idolatry [DCLM Daily Manna 25 July 2020 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Leviticus 17:1-7 (KJV)

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,

3 What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,

4 And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

5 To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.

6 And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

Key Verse: “And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations” (Leviticus 17:7).

MESSAGE:

The worship of God must be done in spirit and in truth. It must also follow divinely established principles that are never to be violated since true worship involves reverence to God and submission to His will.

On this premise, God insisted that the offering of the children of Israel must be brought and slain in an appointed place in the sanctuary, and whosoever violated this rule would face a death penalty in the Old Testament dispensation.

God’s demand has not changed. He demands orderliness and compliance in church worship, service and organisation. The holy God would not want any service or worship that demeans His nature and person.

All worshippers of God should be wary of the temptation to follow worldly standards and traditions which Satan and his cohorts are passionately parading about in modern times to deceive and defile God’s children. Recall Apostle Paul’s warning about eating things offered to idols. He said that those things which the gentiles offer in sacrifice, they do so to idols.

As believers, we have no business with the idols of this world and must not be seen to have any dealings with them and their worshippers. The scriptural counsel to all believers is that we should keep ourselves from idols. God will not spare the idolater from His curse and anger.

To keep away from idols, we must avoid fellowship with idolaters and guard our heart diligently. “Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen” (1 John 5:21).

Thought For The Day: As obedient children, let’s worship God in spirit and in truth.

Jeremiah 1:4-10;
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

Memorise: And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. – Luke 9:62

Read: 2 Peter 2:20-22 (KJV)

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Open Heaven 24 July 2020 Friday MESSAGE:

Our God is a builder – He builds lives, and He has a plan for every single person here on earth. Jeremiah 29:11says:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Also Read: Open Heaven 23 July 2020 – Take Heed

The moment someone surrenders his life to Christ, He begins to build that fellow into something great. However, every time the fellow backslides, the building will be affected. I also like to use the analogy of a sculptor for this. A sculptor may decide to carve a lion out of a piece of wood but find it uncooperative, breaking easily, and thus decide to carve a cat from what is left of it. If at some point while sculpting, the piece of wood breaks again, the sculptor may then decide to make a rat with what is left of the wood. If the wood breaks yet such that it cannot be salvaged, sculptor could turn it to firewood.

Every time you backslide, you frustrate the ultimate plan of God for your life.

Each time a person falls out of the faith, they are just like that piece of wood that keeps breaking. When they get back on their feet, God may decide to continue with what is left, but believe me, except by divine mercy, they cannot be what He originally planned for them. God’s original plan for Samson was that he would deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines and then be their leader, but he didn’t fulfil destiny. Gehazi could have become a greater prophet than Elisha, but he ended up with leprosy. Backsliding can cost you your destiny; beware.

The main danger of backsliding is being thrown into hell fire. Some people get the chance to stand again after backsliding, but not everyone does. Judas Iscariot had been falling and rising while he was Jesus’ treasurer (John 12:6), but one day he fell and never had a chance to rise again. It is a disaster for anyone who has had an encounter with Christ to still end up in hell.

Open Heaven 24 July 2020 Friday Prayer Point:

Father, let me never do anything that can make me fall short of Your glory in the mighty name Jesus.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

A GRATEFUL HEART

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:20).

Some people don’t know the value and power of a grateful heart; therefore, they complain over everything. If they aren’t bemoaning the economic situation, they’re complaining about the pains in their bodies or about some other problem. They’re hardly ever happy, because they’re blind to all the good things happening in, and around them, for which they ought to be grateful.

Theme: *The Normal Christian Life is by Revelation*
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Our confession of Christ Jesus as Our Lord and Saviour is a transformation of life from the natural to the supernatural, it is the invitation of the heavenly into the Earthly and the Beginning of a life of impact in the earth demonstrating God's will.

The Bible says that my People perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) and Proverbs 29:18 says where there is no revelation people are destroyed or go astray.

When The Spirit of revelation comes upon us, it is the release of the will of God in heaven that He wants us to confess on earth to be done here. This is the essence of the Lord's prayer.

Your will be done here as it is in Heaven. The Spirit of Revelation reveals to us the will of God through visions, dreams and revelations that we receive from Him, revealing His kingdom.

Revelation is a release of heavenly plan of God about the affairs of the Earth.
Through revelations,  Jesus Christ makes  known to us the secrets of heaven and the plans of the enemy - the devil.

📖 *Scripture Reading*📖

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
John 3:11

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
John 3:12

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
John 3:13

The Lord Jesus Christ Our Saviour who came down from heaven  always desires to manifest the things of Heaven. Absurdly, our desires are too earthly that they end up blocking this plan.

Giving Christ room to manifest is one way of how we enter into the Spiritual world or realm and download the heavenly picture to transform our Earthly Life.

✍🏾 *Any Christian not yet at this level is still tooooooo carnal for life and such as a one lives to seek Miracles, Money, Marriage, Material things Jobs, good leadership etc. Remember all these don't lead us to being destroyed. We can have them but still be destroyed because we are not living a normal Christian life but a Carnal Christian life.*

📖 *Scripture Reading*📖
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but He that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18

✍🏾 *Note that prophetic revelation expands our capacity to see life from God's perspective, this helps us to see our circumstances and situations through God's eyes and download  God's will about it.*

This is how we see God's will and mind concerning our situations and circumstances then we choose to agree with heaven in binding and loosing.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 16:19

✍🏾 Many times this verse has not worked because we try to use it in the carnal mind though it is a true gesture of the open heaven.

There are things God has already bond in the heavenly yet for us on earth we still love them. We keep praying for them yet they will never happen🤔🤔🤔🤔.

👉🏾 *Update your Christian life today to the normal Christian life which is by Revelation, flee the Earthly Christian life of carnality. This is the mother of people who blame God and end up living in a backsliding state that is both hot and cold i.e. Lukewarm*

Change your ways.

Shalom.

Theme: *Worship sustains God's Presence in your life*
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Its no news to believers that worshipping God, is a need to Him.
God can do ALL things apart from worshipping Himself.
The Bible says, He comes and sits in the praises of His people.

Many of us have a misconceptualization of what worship is. We have thought of it as one done  at a given time and with specific way or approach.

Therefore when such *moments of worship* come, we are usually holier than thou(🙈🙊 ) because we assume we are now in the presence of God and so He needs our reverence. It is the reason, you will find our so called worship sessions in the church services attract a divine presence.

Its high time we knew that we cannot benefit more from the presence of God if only we shall learn to continually worship Him.

How is this achieved🤷🏽‍♀?

Choose to live a lifestyle of worship. In other words, worshipping God is a lifestyle. You cannot be a seasonal worshipper and then you enjoy all the benefits of His presence.

You cannot worship God only on Sunday then throughout the week live your life adamantly and expect to sustain His presence.

*Our God is Holy, He loves to abide in environments that attract Holiness*..... *Selah* 🤔.

📖 *Scripture reading*📖
1 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
Psalms 29:1

2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Psalms 29:2

3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
Psalms 29:3

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
Psalms 29:4

5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
Psalms 29:5

6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
Psalms 29:6

7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
Psalms 29:7

8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
Psalms 29:8

9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
Psalms 29:9

10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
Psalms 29:10

11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
Psalms 29:11

✍🏽Friends, not all situations in your life will change because a servant of God has laid hands on you.
Some circumstances shall be terrified out of your life simply by the presence of Yahweh.
*Hellooooo*🙋🏽‍♂

Yes the stubborn situations in your life such as:-
🌳 *Cedars* ....Foundational problems

🎋🌳🌴 *Forests* .......The web🕸 of confusion and reason for wandering in your life.

🔄 *Wilderness*......The situations that are not productive or yielding fruits. Wildernesses are usually dry with all sorts of insects🐛🦑🕷, reptiles🐍🦎 etc.....

And many other hurdles require God's presence. With His presence abides His Voice which leaves no stone unturned.

Friends, Worship is a lifestyle. True worship attracts God. Worship sustains God's presence and with His presence comes a full package of both deliverance and blessings.
*So i challenge you to worship God in all you think of,  in all you do and all you say*.
