HYMN – THE LORD HAS CLEANSED ME.
When Enitan, a management staff in a Nigerian establishment went on attachment with one of the multinational American companies, she noticed that the Nigerian executive was more feared than God by his fellow Nigerian staff. In contrast, the company’s American Managing Director was friendly and unassuming, and some of the staff actually addressed him by first name. They would rather go into hiding, or pretend to be extremely busy with his Nigerian subordinate. Let us look at the responsibility and accountability issues of the Christian in all spheres of life, as it concerns the leader. For the blood-bought Christian who is a leader, whether employer or employee, your number on role model is the Lord Jesus Christ, whose example is servant leadership and stewardship. All leaders, whether in the home, or church, or workplace, are accountable to God first: from the owner of the multibillion Dollar company to the small shop owner employing only one assistant; from the merit-driven executive in a multinational company, to the Executive Officer or Director in the Civil service who got there through automatic promotions every three years with no merit to call his own.
Dear leader who is a Christian, Jesus wants these from you:
* Humility: You do not have the monopoly of knowledge; encourage those under you to contribute ideas to the running of the establishment. You are not God, never make them bow down and worship you. Jesus who owns you was humble enough to have washed the feet of His disciples and had a habit of asking for their opinions on several issues (Mark 8:29)
* Trust: Lead by example by establishing honesty, transparency and integrity as the culture. Jesus allowed one of His disciples to be the treasurer of the group.
* Training: Encourage and sponsor those under you to improve their knowledge and skills. Delegate some duties to them. Jesus empowered His disciples (Matthew 18:18)
* Empathy: Show interest in the issues of their lives: ask about their families; be compassionate congratulatory when necessary. Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law and He ate in the homes of His disciples.
Beloved, if God, the Sovereign Ruler of heaven and earth can come down to this world and live among men, in order to get men to do what He wants, we need to copy Him in every way.
I pray for you that you will be a success in whatever area that God has entrusted you with leadership and that He will continually promote you beyond your wildest imagination, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINTS
MORNING
1) Whatever position you are in, give God quality praise. Promotion comes only from Him

3) My Father, give me the power to move from strength to strength in my job (or ministry, or any position that God has placed you) in Jesus name.
EVENING
4) Holy Spirit my Counsellor, endow me with the fruit of the Spirit in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name.
