One die as bus catches fire on third mainland bridge

– An 18-seater bus caught fire on the third mainland bridge – One person burnt to death while others escaped Reports just reaching Naij.com indicate that a bus is on fire on the third mainland bridge, Unilag axis going towards Lagos Island. The bus with 18 passengers, caught fire on Wednesday morning, February 24 at about 7.15am.

One person reportedly burnt to death while the others narrowly escaped death. It was gathered from eyewitnesses that the bus tumbled twice and eventually went up in flames due to over speeding on the part of the driver. The passengers were trapped but were lucky to be rescued by sympathisers and law enforcement agents. The burning bus has caused heavy gridlock and motorists are stuck in traffic.
