Our Daily Bread devotional, November 9, 2016 - Signs and Feelings

Topic: Signs and Feelings [November 9, 2016]

Read: Matthew 16:1–4, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 46–47; Hebrews 6

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105

A young man I know has a habit of asking God for signs. That’s not necessarily bad, but his prayers tend to seek confirmation of his feelings. For instance, he’ll pray, “God, if You want me to do X, then You please do Y, and I’ll know it’s okay.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES ✨You’re An Overcomer✨ Tuesday 8th November . Pastor Chris

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).

You’re a victor in Christ Jesus; you were born that way. Refuse to allow the circumstances of life get you to think otherwise. You’re born of God, and have therefore overcome the world and its systems: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). Through faith you have overcome the world!

Our Daily Bread devotional, November 8, 2016 - We Had No Idea

Topic: We Had No Idea [November 8, 2016]

Read: Galatians 6:2–10, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 43–45; Hebrews 5

Carry each other’s burdens. Galatians 6:2

Volunteers from a local church spent a frigid evening distributing food to people in a low-income apartment complex. One woman who received the food was overjoyed. She showed them her bare cupboard and told them they were an answer to her prayers.

As the volunteers returned to the church, one woman began to cry. “When I was a little girl,” she said, “that lady was my Sunday school teacher. She’s in church every Sunday. We had no idea she was almost starving!”

Topic: Catalysts for Miracles [Tuesday 8, November 2016]

Memorise: Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. – Mark 9:23

Read: Mark 9:19-29 (KJV)

19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 4-7, Psalms 98

MESSAGE:

In the Kingdom of God, there is no room for impossibility. Impossibilities only exist in the realm of the physical. As far as the dictionary of heaven is concerned, everything is possible.

DCLM Daily Manna November 8, 2016 by Pastor Kumuyi – Preach Christ the Crucified

Topic: Preach Christ The Crucified [November 8, 2016]

Text: John 12:12-22

Key Verse: "The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus" (John 12:21).

A young preacher went to a new church as pastor. He thought the people wanted to hear intellectual preaching, so he filled his sermons with these things. His church’s attendance began to fall off. Young people left the church. Then one day, when he came to his pulpit, he found a card with the words, "We would see Jesus", written on it. He was angry at first but soon began to realize he had been giving his people the wrong messages. He promised the Lord that from that time on, he would preach "Christ and Him crucified". As he did this, his congregation began to grow, and the young people returned to the church.

DCLM Daily Manna November 4, 2016 by Pastor Kumuyi – A Fixed Gaze On Him

Topic: A Fixed Gaze on Him [November 4, 2016]

Text: Psalm 49:15-20

Key Verse: "But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me" (Psalm 49:15).

Admonitions, encouragement, exhortations are some ways preachers help believers to cope with some challenges that confront them. No doubt, the world in which we live is full of such unpleasant occurrences and each of us has our fair share of such experiences. What separates a winner from a looser in this bumpy road of life is attitude. As we face the reality of oppressions, difficulties and the huge gaps between the rich and the poor, there is often the tendency for some Christians to become depressed and discouraged.

Topic: Matrimonial Robber? [Thursday 3, November 2016]

Memorise: And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? – Proverbs 5:20

Read: Malachi 2:14-16 (KJV)

14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

Bible in One Year: Revelation 8-11, Psalms 93

MESSAGE:

There are some people who never knew what sickness, failure, poverty or stagnation was until they committed fornication or adultery. Fornication/adultery is a sin that attracts the automatic wrath of God because it involves your Body, Soul and Spirit. Those who secretly engage in the sin of adultery end up being reduced to a piece of bread. Some think that as long as their sins are not found out, they are safe. Ask King David, he will tell you that your sins will always find you out. Fornication and adultery will reduce you to a state of nothingness. Every precious thing in you will shut down permanently, the grace of God upon your life will be automatically removed and you will immediately become exposed to all forms of satanic attack. The cover of the Almighty God is removed and shame and reproach will become a daily occurrence to such a person. It doesn’t matter how long you may have spent in building your life, it begins to crash the moment you invite destruction.

Text: Revelation 16:13-21

Key Verse: "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame" (Revelation16:15).

Events across the world, no doubt, have continued to confirm that the present world is running its full course and ready to drop its worn-out garment of sin and disobedience. John the Beloved was privileged to be shown the events of the last days as documented in the book of Revelation for our learning, Nobody can claim ignorance of some of the recent happenings across the globe, all confirming earlier predictions and prophecies from prophets.

Dear friend,
Did you know that top sales professionals see themselves as "Doctors of Selling?" They see themselves as professionals, well educated, acting in their "patient's" best interest, and bound by a high code of ethics.
The medical process is the same everywhere. Whenever you go to any doctor, of any kind, for any condition, he will follow the three part sequence of examination, diagnosis and prescription

Topic: Proclaim The Good News [November 2, 2016]

Text: Mark 7:31-37

Key Verse: "And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it" (Mark 7:36).

Someone said: "It is not enough to hide God's word in your heart, you must speak for God in your place of influence".A great miracle has taken place through Jesus Christ. A deaf and dumb man has been healed of his condition and this elicited celebration and great joy, not only from the recipient of the miracle, but indeed from those who witnessed the supernatural manifestation. But Jesus charged them not to tell anyone about it. Yet, the joy was so much that they continued to publicise it.

Topic: Blow The Trumpet [November 1, 2016]

Text: Numbers 10:1-10

Key Verse: "Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God" (Numbers 10:10).

Clear instruction deserves prompt obedience. God's messages to the children of Israel have always been clear and without ambiguities. All His instructions are intended to enhance the well-being of the people though they perceived some directives as cumbersome.

God’s ultimate desire for your marriage (5) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Today, I want to let you know that it is God’s desire for you to accept your marital responsibility. Responsibility is the price for greatness. Therefore, it is very important as a man or woman in marriage to accept responsibility. Nothing works on its own; you have to work out your marriage to make it a fulfilled one.
